Experience:

Ted Hess-Mahan represents individuals, businesses, non-profits and organizations in civil litigation in the state and federal courts and administrative proceedings and mediates business and shareholder disputes. He and Robert Feigin recently won a summary judgment in the Massachusetts Superior Court, dismissing claims for compensation under a finder’s fee agreement. Prior to joining the firm, he was a law clerk for an associate justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and a litigation attorney at Ropes & Gray LLP, focusing on general business and complex civil litigation, and at Shapiro Haber & Urmy LLP, prosecuting shareholder and derivative litigation. Ted lives with his family in Newton.

  • Most recently, Ted co-authored a chapter on depositions in class actions published in the Massachusetts Deposition Practice Manual (MCLE Supp. 2009)

  • Ted has lectured at legal seminars and published articles on class actions, securities, special education, and medical records privacy laws, and has been a guest lecturer on voting rights at the New England School of Law.
